HOUSTON - It took the Harding Lady Bisons nearly four minutes to score their first points Wednesday against the Texas A&M International Dustdevils, but after that Harding had little difficulty. Harding (6-2) eclipsed the 90-point mark for the fourth time this season with a 93-45 victory in the first game of the Houston Baptist Classic.

Sophomore Stacey Owens came off the bench to score a career-high 21 points with one of the best shooting nights in Lady Bison history. Owens was 8-of-10 from the field, including a perfect 4-of-4 from three-point range. She added a team-high 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.

Owens was one of three Lady Bisons with 10 or more points as 12 of Harding's 13 active players scored. Freshman Lakyn Garrison added 16 points, and freshman Kallie Bartee shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the field for 10 points.

Harding's bench scored 61 of the team's 93 points.

Texas A&M International (3-4) took an early 7-6 lead, but Harding responded with an 18-3 run midway through the first half. The Lady Bisons led 39-20 at halftime and led by as many as 51 points in the second half.

Harding set season highs in shooting 56.7 percent from the field and 50.0 percent (9-of-18) from three-point range. The Lady Bisons also outscored the Dustdevils 33-7 off turnovers and 52-20 in the paint.

Texas A&M International, which shot 36.5 percent from the field and committed 30 turnovers, is located in Laredo, Texas, and is a provisional NCAA II member of the Heartland Conference.

Nicole Gipson led the Dustdevils with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Harding's four 90-point efforts this season is the most since the 1996-97 team scored 90 or more points four times. The school record is six 90-point games in 1995-96.
